Since leasing the aerodrome from Tenterfield Shire Council, FOTA has already had a huge impact in developing it as a Disaster Readiness Hub and generating interest in more flights and hangar tenants. However, this work requires money, resources and labour, and your donations in cash or kind, or your time and help will make a real difference to us in our work for the Tenterfield Community.

The aerodrome needs frequent mowing to maintain its availability.  Equipment such as our Mulcher Mower needs funding for maintenance expenses. It has 28 hammer blades each of which cost $20 each. Bolts cost $4 each. If you are an experienced operator you could volunteer a few hours on our mower, or bring your own equipment and lend a hand.

Fencing, Roadways and approaches need maintaining and improving. We want to construct a first class entrance to the Aerodrome, and replace the perimeter fencing. Kangaroo proof security fencing will cost $20/m. Can you help with materials or labour? Fiberglass cones and gable markers need repairing or replacing. These cost up to $345 each.

We have already installed 2 water tanks for emergency firefighting use, 30,000l and 200,000l. We need pipework installed, as well as clean fill and road base to construct hardstand for emergency service helicopters, levelling aircraft parking areas, constructing taxiways, and pads for a machinery shed, hangars, toilets and a disaster operation centre.
